Map Tangling / Splat Tangling

Service Description

A workshop covering the basics and some more advanced techniques of creating Map Tangles, a splatty, fun way of creating a background or base for your Zentangle patterns. This workshop will require some Zentangle knowledge and some knowledge of using watercolour paints and inks - in other words, it's not for the complete beginner. You will also need to prepare your paper beforehand and when you register, you will receive a link to a video to show you how to prepare your paper 'my' way! This removes the need to make time for the background to dry. (It is possible to use a hairdryer to do this but I prefer the effects you can achieve by simply allow the ink/paint to dry on its own). You will receive a list of materials that I use with the video link at least one week before the workshop. Any liquid paint is fine to use - either watercolour or Ecoline watercolour inks are my favourites and these are what I will be using in the video. But please feel free to experiment! For the workshop itself, I recommend you have the usual Zentangle materials to hand, plus white chalk pencil, white Gelly Roll and some toning coloured pencils to add depth - and a little gold for some sparkle. I know many of you have been looking forward to this and so I am very excited to be able to offer it now! As always, you can book and attend the live Zoom meeting or you can book and follow along with the video in your own time. (The recording will be available to everyone who books the workshop but you cannot buy the video without booking the class). Please contact me if you have any questions! If you can't attend a live Zoom workshop, you will automatically receive the recording within 24 hours. No need to cancel or let me know if you can't attend.
